The semester is off and running

The semester is off to good start. Morrill Hall has Cable Television in the Journalism Lab, and the TV News Lab. Earl Hall has fiber connected for it's Node, and the return feed cable is run, connections should be made for that soon. WSIN has video from it's Studio, once the audio connection is resolved they will be on the SCSU-TV for their regularly scheduled radio shows. It also looks like we will have remote broadcast ability around most of the campus soon using the TCP/IP network.

Morrill Hall and Earl Hall Online Shortly

The connection for the Morrill Journalism Computer Lab has been completed. The other drops for the Journalism Department will be done soon, hopefully Tuesday, we're waiting on conduit to arrive. Earl Hall is a larger problem likely involving a Node problem, also the Video Production Facility will need to be connected to feed video out as well, but at least the wire has been run.

Early August Update

Comcast was in working to provide CATV in more locations. Connections were worked on in Morrill Hall for the Journalism Department. The cable was run, and boxes were put in. The next step will be connections and splicing.

In the near future hopefully CATV and a reverse video feed will be setup in Earl Hall for the Communication Department, hopefully including the connection of their Studio for Live News broadcasts.

The website has been updated to include a "Live" view of the TV channel.

2009 Summer

The summer for 2009 will be spent working on policies, and connecting the various endpoints that often broadcast video.   These will include Lyman Center, Earl Hall Communcation Studio and the Student Center Campus Radio Studio.
